“Rapunzel” Fairy Tale Literacy Narrative
The Fairy Tale that I am going to be writing about is the Fairy Tale called “Rapunzel”. This Fairy Tale is about a girl named Rapunzel who got kidnapped when she was little by an evil witch. Then she was kept locked away in a tall tower not allowed to go outside. This allowed her to have very long beautiful blonde hair which she later on uses to escape the tower with a prince. So I’m going to be talking about my thoughts and emotional reaction to this Fairy Tale and how it has impacted me as a reader.
So, when I first heard of the fairy Tale, I was a little kid. I was about 9 years old and my mom read it to me. I loved it and thought it was funny and foolish and it made me want to read it more, since I was just a little kid in grade school. I didn’t really know much and I didn’t really care about anything and never actually saw the deep meanings behind things no matter how important or aAmateur things were. But 9 years later I read it again. My views on the Fairy Tale changed and I realize it has a big meaning to it that I never thought it had ever since when I was little. What changed my idea of the story and how it affected me emotionally was just how sad and messed up it was. It made me sad to see how a young girl was just trapped in a tower for years by an evil witch. This made me realize that she had no freedom in her life. She was

basically trapped in prison. All she had was a window to look out of and her very long blond majestic hair that she has developed from all those years of her living in that tower. That showed to me how life can be unexpected and you could never know what could come your way and lose your privileges in life without doing no harm like how Rapunezle went through all of these years in the tower by herself and with that evil witch.
But there is always hope. The lesson I learned when reading this is no matter how bad things can get you should always have hope in your life. During the Fairy Tale, an example of hope was how at a moment, Rapunzel was singing in her tower. A prince from a distance heard her singing and realized that she was all alone So he went to rescue her out of the tower. The prince gave her an idea to use her very long hair, to use as a rope to bring herself down the tower so she could go and escape with the prince. This made me realize that in life I should always have hope and it made me have a positive impact on myself that if bad things happen to you. Maybe if you have hope something good and wonderful can happen to you like how something good happened to Rapuenzel. So this was a good lesson that has impacted me for the good.
This has happened to me in the past. I can relate to this a lot. There was once at a point in my life where I lost hope that I wasn’t able to play the sports that I was. One time I had an injury on my forearm and it was keeping me away from playing baseball and basketball which were my favorite sports. So months passed and my forearm was still always hurting and bothering me so at some point I lost hope. But then things like this story gave me hope that I can find something

good for me so I decided to go to youtube and find ways to solve my forearm problem and I found a certain exercise that was able to help me with my forearm. So when I figured that out. I was able to heal and I was able to now play the sports and play in my baseball games that I missed for almost a year now and that meant a lot to me. I feel like none of this would have ever happened if I just lost hope.
This Fairy Tale has helped me a lot. It made me contribute to my literacy development since it made me have a better understanding of when structuring writings. It made me have a better format and gave me better narrative techniques. IT made me see the causes and the problems of the fairy tale and I could apply those things to my writing. It really helped me a lot.
